The photographic series Schoenwald 23, Germany refers to the restaurant kitchen of the Donaustuben in Donaueschingen. The kitchen was formerly used to cater for the Donaustuben and the Donauhallen and is therefore also connected to the Donaueschingen Music Festival. It no longer exists today. The kitchen, which still existed in 2007 was abandoned, but contained its utensils and furniture as well as the kitchen's crockery.
The series of 12 plates of the type Schoenwald 23, Germany was coated with forensic powder to reveal traces of use. The photographs document this process.
