Nobody thinks twice about a construction site in public space: the temporary character points to changes to be expected. Passage refers to this familiar aspect of public life, but those visitors who take one of the entrances placed along the street find themselves inside a spatial and acoustic fabrication. Via twenty loudspeakers built into the walls, the entire—and temporary—architectural structure has been placed under permanent noise (the sound of rushing wind), and is demarcated from its environment as a coherent acoustic block. A side space running adjacent with the passage is reserved for stereotypical individual sounds of everyday life that point to the everyday sonic sphere of the surroundings.
