Aftermath (Nachspiel) is structered as a videoessay which reflects festival productions and the working theme itself. In 2013 the topic has been a press photo of 2008 by an italian photographer which shows two covered female dead bodies on the beach of Torregaveta, Naples. In the background a couple of tourists watches the situation with an seemingly indifferent expression.
As a thematic precondition of all five music theater productions of the festival all directors and composers worked on the issue of the photo. In the Videoessay by Kristof Georgen interviews, rehearsals and performances correspond with TV and radio documents of 2008 as well as on-site researches at Torregaveta, Italy. The videoessay explores questions of truth-telling and responsibility both within media and society.
The Pocket Opera Festival 2013 "endlich opfer" took place in fall 2013 in Salzburg with compositions by Cio d’Or (D), Natalia Gaviola (ARG), Brigitta Muntendorf (D), Hüseyin Evirgen (TR/A) and Filippo Perocco (I), directed by Thierry Bruehl (D), Jürgen Palmer (D) and Hans-Peter Jahn (D).
